About Us

The purpose of G. Phillip May is to spread the good news of Jesus Christ through teaching, preaching, and mission outreach. We hope to meet the physical, spiritual, and emotional needs of people.

There I was, Phillip May, at 24 a young husband and father kneeling in the chapel at Blair Hospital to pray for my 2 year old daughter who had fallen and fractured her skull. I saw clearly my need for a savior and asked Jesus to take control of my life. "Whether my daughter lives or not" I vowed, "I'll live for you". That was in 1964. Following that surrender the word of God became my bread; Christ my reason for living. It remains so today.

The journey has taken me into ministry via Lay Pastor School, Oral Roberts University, Oklahoma City University, and Asbury Theological Seminary, serving pastorates in Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania. In each parish my focus was evangelism. Leaders were always challenged to check the motivation behind the programs and activities offered by the church. Will this even lead anyone to Christ or deepen their faith? If not then let's do something that will!

In 1996, I felt the call into full time evangelism and served as General Evangelist for the Central Pa Conference of the United Methodist Church. In 2000 I retired in order to form G. Phillip May Ministries, a non-profit organization, and to expand my evangelical outreach.

I have had the privilege to preach the good news of Jesus in many churches, camp meetings and retreat settings. The Holy Spirit has been faithful to guide my words so that faith is quickened in the hearts of those present. The response to invitations for first-time commitment, requests for God's healing touch or for a new touch from the Holy Spirit confirms my reason for being in ministry. Requests for resources to assist believers in prayer inspired the printing of two booklets: Praying Scriptures for the Lost and Praying Scriptures for Healing and Wholeness and is the basis for publishing a ministry newsletter Following the Call.

May Ministries acts as overseer to two pastors and their congregations in Sierra Leone, West Africa: Pastor Harold Thomas, New Miracle of Praise Ministries, in Monkey Bush, Waterloo; and Pastor Jacob Gbateh, Pure Life Evangelistic Ministries, in Lungi. The passion and desire of my heart is to support the efforts of these men and the ministries they lead.

God is good and to Him be all honor and glory and pwer and wisdom, now and forever more.
